COVID-19 Health & Safety Preparedness Plan

The health and safety of our people and also our clients come first. Because we work in the beauty industry and personal services are the most intimate services that can be performed, we have put a lot of time and objective thought into how to proceed during this season of coronavirus.

 

We have also surveyed our industry’s stylists to get a temperature on their comfort level in the marketplace, if and when they’ll be delivering services again and what exactly they are willing to perform. This, along with CDC and state guidelines has given us the foundation for the following preparedness plan at BBP. We ask that your understanding for small business owners take precedence over personal opinions or wants. Common sense and standardized practices will always be in place at Beautiful Brides Philly when it comes to health and safety.

For Our Clients

All clients are required to wear masks. Clients must provide their own mask. Masks may be taken off only to do foundation during a makeup application.

 

If the client does not have a mask, services will not be offered and no refund will be given.

Stylists are not permitted to work in tandem on the same client. Services must be done one at a time.

 

All clients with appointments agree to take their own temperature within 12 hours of their appointment. If the temperature is 100+ we ask that you notify us as we will not be able to complete services for that client.

If you are feeling sick or have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19 we ask that you cancel your appointment.

The only people allowed in the getting ready space/room are those who have appointments with BBP. Limit of 10 persons in the room at one time – including stylists.

BBP’s studio is small, so at this time, brides/clients having their hair and/or makeup trials cannot bring a guest. Clients will be asked to submit a signed release form before coming to the BBP studio.

Stylists may do a verbal consultation with each client before beginning services. If they choose to, they will ask a series of questions as it relates to their current health and COVID-19.

BBP reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who reports or is displaying symptoms.

Only a covered beverage is allowed in the workspace. Cell phones and other personal items are not allowed to be in used or otherwise inside the artisan’s work area while a client is in an appointment or in the work area.

Clients must wash hands before and after each service.

For Our Stylists

All stylists will be required to wear a mask during all services.

BBP requires stylists to check their kits before leaving for work to ensure they have all necessary PPE and notify BBP that the check has been completed. It is recommended that extra masks, shields, and sanitation equipment be kept in your car.

Face shields will be required to be worn when the client’s mask needs to be removed during a makeup application.

Stylists must follow sanitation practices when removing face shield after use before returning to the service.

Face shields are recommended, but not required for other services so long as the client is wearing a mask.

Gloves are recommended, but not required.

Stylists must wash their work clothing and cloth mask after each workday.

Down styling will be done on clean dry hair.

Stylists are not permitted to work in tandem on the same client. Services must be done one at a time.

Airbrush makeup is okay. It is recommended that an EPA disinfectant is run through the gun after each client.

Client masks may be taken off only to do foundation during a makeup application. Stylists must wear a mask at this point in the service.

All stylists will be required to take their temperature a minimum of 12 hours before each workday. If you have a fever of 100+ you will not be permitted to work that day. If you are feeling sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, we ask that you let BBP know and we will reassign your work for the day.

All stylists will be required to take sanitation training and abide by the sanitation practices.

All stylists will be required to carry and use an EPA registered disinfectant.

Stylists will be required to wash their hands in between every client. When soap and water are not available, hand sanitizer should be used.

All on-location work stations will be required to be 6 feet apart.
